Office Administrator - APPLICATION WINDOW NOW CLOSED
Full time role – 37.5 hours per week
Salary dependent on experience
Dartmoor Zoological Society are recruiting for a full time Office Administrator. This is a varied role, encompassing a wide range of activities including being the single point of contact within the zoo. The Office Administrator is responsible for the administration of the zoo’s activities such as booking experiences, dealing with memberships and liaising with all the departments to ensure a smooth, efficient, back office function.
The ideal candidate will be a skilled and experienced administrator with effective customer service skills and excellent IT, organisational and time management skills.

Catering, Retail & Events Assistant
The Jaguar Restaurant is located in Dartmoor Zoo, overlooking the African Paddock. This is the hub of most of our major events and activities hosted at the Zoo and can get very busy indeed. In summer we can cater for up to 900 people per day, with no two days the same. Successful applicants who display a strong work ethic have the potential to be kept on as permanent.
The role of Restaurant Staff at Dartmoor Zoo will, among other things, consist of the following tasks:
- Preparing food and drinks
- Working on the Admissions Desk
- Supervising the car park
- Hosting children’s parties
- Cleaning the restaurant, toilets and other facilities
- Hosting Events
- Till Operation

Applicants should have a confident, outgoing personality and a good nature with children. You should be well organised and self-motivated. Due to the fast paced aspect of this job, an ability to cope well to change and pressure is essential.
A background in the hospitality and catering industry is advantageous but not essential. Full on the job training will be provided.
Due to the location of the position and the variable hours including evening shifts, a full clean drivers license is preferred. As you will be required to work during the peak seasons, including school holidays, availability during these periods is essential.
