EYFS Workshops

Dartmoor Zoo offers a wide range of workshops and sessions designed to introduce children to (and inspire them about!) animal welfare, conservation and biodiversity from a young age.

With the help of our close encounters collection, DZP Education provides an introduction to animal handling and care.

Native Wildlife Explorers

In this session, children will have the opportunity to explore our outdoor classroom, where we will investigate our native wildlife! Children will have the opportunity to forage in the undergrowth, turning over stones and looking under logs to find all sorts of interesting inhabitants of the outdoor classroom. Once we’ve finished this, children will get the chance to help conserve some of our native birds by making bird feeders to hand up around the Zoo!
