We run after school clubs for both primary and secondary aged students that focus on animal welfare and conservation. Each club can be tailor made to suit each class participating, including the learning outcomes, duration, location and delivery. Alternatively, you can have a look at some of the sessions we’ve run in the past.
We have held after school clubs within the comfort of your own classrooms, or within the zoo, or a little bit of both! Why not do 50/50?
If you are hoping to take part in a class project, one of our education team would be happy to visit your school to discuss potential project ideas, completely free of charge!
Examples of after school clubs we have run in the past are:
6 week zoo club:
Week 1 – Reptile close encounters (school)
Week 2 – Native wildlife (school)
Week 3 – Enterprise challenge (school)
Week 4 – Zoo tour (zoo)
Week 5 – Slime workshop (zoo)
Week 6 – Enrichment making (zoo)
6 week exotic conservation project
Spend a few weeks learning about your desired subject, whether it’s big cats, canines, mammals, birds, reptiles, or just conservation in general.
6 week native wildlife conservation project
Take this opportunity to learn more about our incredible native wildlife, and put together a project to help in their conservation either at your school or on the zoo grounds.
Other potential project subjects include: adaptations, evolution, conservation, animal behaviour, the role of zoos.
