DZS Challenge 2021

Photograph of Josh

Last year’s top fundraiser was 11 year old Josh White, who climbed his stairs to the equivalent of climbing Mount Everest and raised a mountainous £20,077.

Do you fancy walking the Great Wall of China, cycling the Tour de France, or rowing the Atlantic, without leaving the country? Or just a 2km walk around the block or around your home?

We have created an exciting new way for you to support your favourite zoo whilst doing your lockdown exercise and getting your household involved too. The DZS Challenge 2021 is a virtual challenge for you to do just this!

Choose or create your own challenge, get your family involved, pool your mileage, or make it more competitive and see who can complete it first or do the most miles in your team.

During the first lockdown last year, with your help, you saved our zoo. As far as we can see we will be closed for some time to come, so we find ourselves asking you to support us again.

Whether it’s £1 or £1,000, every penny will go towards the vital work Dartmoor Zoo does to provide a future where no animals face extinction

8 year old Tait Shillingford completed 1000 burpees and raised £1500.

What’s your challenge?

However you choose to raise money for Dartmoor Zoo, we hope you’ll rise to your challenge!

Make sure you let us know what you are doing and share your progress with us on social media or by email. We can’t wait to hear what your challenges are, make sure you tag them with #DZSChallenge2021 so we don’t miss them.

Good luck and thank you.

Your Help Needed

Dartmoor Zoo has lost hundreds of thousands of pounds in critical funds after having to close due to Covid-19. As a charity, we depend on income from fundraising events and admissions from visitors, all of which were ceased due to lockdown.

Despite being allowed to open, we are only able to welcome a quarter of the visitors we would usually see through our doors due to the restrictions in place.

To provide the best possible care to our animals, we must continue to still fundraise £11,500 a week and rely on the generosity of the public. If you would like to lend us a helping hand, please donate below.
