The Conservation and Research department here at Dartmoor Zoo is incredibly active. We have links with many Universities and higher education institutions enabling us to conduct research into cognition, behaviour, conservation, animal welfare and the social sciences.
Lynx introduction goes smoothly
We are happy to announce that after all of his adventures Flaviu the lynx now has a new companion. Female Lynx Willow came to us from Chessington World of Adventures and she and Flaviu are getting along brilliantly!
Dartmoor Zoo in partnership with Plymouth University has officially opened the Dartmoor Institute of Animal Science building which will be used for research and conservation studies.

DZP Welcomes two Cheetah
In January 2017 two young Cheetah brothers, Tibo and Baro, arrived from Landau Zoo in Germany. They've settled into their enclosure well and are getting used to all the exciting enrichment the keepers are doing for them. If you want to hear more about these two come along to our Big Cat talk!
