Snooze at the Zoo

Enquiries for 2027 are now open.

A night your students will never forget! 

A 24-hour experience, our sleepover at the zoo gives an exciting insight into the wild world of a zoo round the clock. This is great for students of all ages and is packed full of activities around the zoo during the day and night.

The packed schedule starts in the morning and continues right through until bedtime including animal encounters, zoo tours, workshops and zoo games. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all included in the price and students will be given a unique Snooze at the Zoo t-shirt to take away with them.

  • Snooze at the Zoo requires a minimum of 15 individuals
  • Indoor sleeping arrangements are available if required
  • Tents and sleeping equipment are not provided
  • A day tripper option is available for those young people who aren’t quite ready to spend the night

Our Snooze at the Zoo experience is catered specifically to the age and individuality of the visiting group and can be adapted for any audience.

Pricing

Pupils: 

£95 per pupil, for groups of 25+ people 

£110 per pupil, for groups of 20 – 24 people 

£130 per pupil, for groups of 15 – 19 people 

Accompanying adults: £38

Risk Assessment Guidelines

Responsibility for risk assessing a Dartmoor Zoo visit rests with the school/organisation. To assist with the planning of a risk assessment, please see below the following risk control measures that we take. These are for your guidance only and should not be used in place of your full risk assessment.

First Aid

Dartmoor Zoo always has qualified first aiders on-site and first aid kits are stationed around the Zoo. Please call 01752 837645 or speak to any of our Education staff should you require first aid assistance. 

Terms and Conditions

  • Our standard terms of entry apply. These may be subject to change without notice.
  • Bookings are subject to 10% non-refundable deposit. This is required to secure your booking.
  • By making an enquiry you agree to us contacting you regarding your booking.
  • School children must be accompanied by an adult at all times during their visit.
  • Any disruptive behaviour on site will be reported and dealt with immediately. Unfortunately, in extreme cases, this may lead to the whole school group being asked to leave the Zoo premises.
  • A full health and safety briefing will be held at the start of the Snooze experience. All attendees must be present. Adults will be required to sign to say they have understood.
  • Groups will be invoiced following their visit based on the numbers provided on the day. If this number varies compared to pre-arranged catering orders, then an additional charge will be made to cover additional or excess catering.

Cancellations and amendments

  • If you wish to cancel a confirmed booking, please do so in writing 14 days prior to your booking date. Cancellations under 14 days’ notice from the booking date will incur a £100 cancellation fee. Deposits paid are non-refundable and will be retained upon cancellation.
  • On rare occasions unforeseen circumstances may necessitate us to postpone your trip at short notice. In this event you will be contacted via email or phone as soon as possible. We recommend that you check your messages and emails regularly before your visit in case we have contacted you.
