Your birthday party will be looked after from start to finish by your own dedicated party host who knows how to make sure guests have a great time. Choose between a lunch box or pizzas, enjoy a guided tour of the zoo, and you can make your birthday party even more memorable with additional packages such as crafty activities, the incredible opportunity to meet and feed our meerkats, and secure those all-important goodie bags too.

We are only 15 minutes from Plymouth, with plenty of parking available. Access to our accessible parking park is also available to anyone who requires it.

Our birthday package is pre-made and includes the following:

  • Being greeted and looked after by your very own party host
  • Escorted to your own reserved table with complimentary soft drinks
  • A scrumptious lunch box for all or hot pizzas all round
  • A fun and informative host lead Zoo Tour highlighting some big characters at the Zoo and answering any questions along the way

Price: Birthday package starts at £195.00 for between 1-10 children. You can then add any further additional children for £18.50 per child.

The Children’s birthday party rate includes all of the above plus:

  • Full day Zoo entry for all attendees
  • A birthday card from us at Dartmoor Zoo
  • Free admission for two adults with the birthday child/children
  • Discounted entry rates of £12.50 reduced from £21.95 for all pre-booked additional adults**
  • Unlimited squash for the duration of the party

You can also add any of these additional extras to your party:

  • Craft Activities (£3.50 per child)
  • Feed the meerkat experience (£60)
  • Party bags with cuddly plush toy (£5.99 per bag)

** Please note that the discounted rate of £12.50 is only applicable to adults added to your basket at the point of booking. All additional adults wishing to attend after your booking is made can do so by purchasing standard general admission tickets via our website or at our main gate on arrival.

T&Cs

  • Parties must be booked at least two weeks before the chosen date, with 100% payment due at the time of booking.
  • Two free adult entry tickets are included in the party package. Any further additional adults can be added to your party package for a reduced fee of £12.50 per adult. This reduced ticket price only applies to additional adults confirmed and added at point of booking. Any further additional adults who wish to attend after the party has been booked will need to purchase standard general admission tickets on arrival.
  • Bookings may be rescheduled but cannot be cancelled. Bookings are non-refundable.
  • Parties of 25 or more children may incur additional fees.
  • Each party package includes a host-led zoo tour, lunch (lunch box or pizza option available), a birthday card, soft drinks, and zoo entry.
  • Optional extras may include craft activities, party bags, and meerkat feeding.
  • The recommended supervision ratio is at least one adult per six children.
  • Party hosts will guide, entertain, and educate, but adults attending the party are responsible for managing the children’s behaviour.
  • We reserve the right to end an activity or terminate a party early if any behaviour is deemed inappropriate. No refund will be issued.
  • Aggressive or unsafe behaviour will automatically result in the party being ended early, with no refund. Guests may also be removed from the Zoo site.
  • Animal feeds and encounters are subject to availability and the animals’ welfare on the day. We reserve the right to adjust animal encounters due to unforeseen circumstances.
  • As standard, only the birthday child or children are given the food to feed the meerkats during the experience. It is at the discretion of the host as to whether deviations from this arrangement are made on the day.
  • Activities may be adapted or replaced without notice due to unforeseen circumstances such as adverse weather or animal welfare.
  • Dartmoor Zoo may reschedule parties in the event of adverse weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
  • All dietary requirements (e.g. vegetarian, gluten-free, allergies) must be communicated at point of booking.
  • Guests are not permitted to bring their own food or drink, except for a birthday cake, which can be brought into the indoor party space only.
  • You are welcome to decorate the party room, parents or guardians can arrive at the Zoo from 9.30am to do so, but this request must be stated in the party booking notes.
  • All decorations including balloons must remain inside at all times. Decorations must not damage or mark the venue or leave residue behind on removal.
  • Please respect signage, barriers, and staff instructions at all times.
  • Parking is free at Dartmoor Zoo, but guests park at their own risk. The zoo is not responsible for damage or theft.
  • Parking for other purposes (e.g. overnight) is not permitted.
  • Please allow at least 20 minutes for parking, checking in and walking up the driveway, especially during peak times.
  • Guests must not bang on or interact with enclosures or attempt to touch animals under any circumstances.
  • Feeding animals outside of organised sessions is not allowed under any circumstances. If guests attempt to feed any animal on site including our free roaming peacocks you may be removed from the Zoo.
  • Guests should wear comfortable clothing and footwear, suitable for the forecasted weather.
  • You’re welcome to explore the zoo after your party has concluded until our standard closing time.
  • Guests may take personal photographs, but please avoid flash photography near animals.
  • Please respect the privacy of other zoo guests while taking photos.
