Dartmoor zoo parties are a fun and wild way to spend your special day

Your birthday party or special event will be looked after from start to finish by your own dedicated party host from our Events Team, so you’ll be in safe hands all day.

We can help you tailor make your party package or you can choose from our ready-made packages available. Regardless of the event, we can create something wonderful, suitable for all ages!

We have timetables to suit either mornings or afternoons, and prices start from £15.50 per person.

Tiger Toddlers

A party that guarantees a roaring good time! An inclusive package ideally suited to children aged between 2 – 5. With two different time slots available, it’s your choice if you’re a morning riser or an afternoon dancer.

Your dedicated party host will meet you in the Jaguar Restaurant, ready for the day’s activities.

Typical timetables for this package include:

  • Embark on a fun host lead Zoo Tour to find your favourite animals in our collection whilst your guide highlights roarsome facts.
  • Stop those hunger grumps with a scrumptious lunch in the Jaguar Restaurant.
  • A creative and exciting crafting activity for all the party.

Price: For only £17.50 per child, you’ll be booking a fantastically memorable experience for your child’s special day. This rate includes their zoo entry for the day as well as all of the below:

  • A birthday card from us at Dartmoor Zoo
  • A yummy lunch for the children
  • Free admissions for two adults
  • Discounted entry rates of £12.50 for additional adults
  • Unlimited squash

Choose from our optional extras to make their day even more special:

  • Face painting (£3.50 per child)
  • Another crafting activity (£3.00 per child)
  • Party bags that include a cuddly plush toy, eco-friendly jotter, pencils, ruler, rubber, colouring pencils, sharpener and lanyard. (£7.95 per child)

Capybara Kids

Get ready for a rumble in the jungle with our inclusive party package for kids aged between 6-15!

With two different time slots available, it’s your choice if you’re early birds or late risers.

This package is pre-made and includes the following:

  • Being greeted in the Jaguar Restaurant by your party host
  • Escorted to your own reserved table with complimentary soft drinks
  • Get up close and personal with some of our special residents with either a Feed the Otter or Feed the Meerkat experience
  • Enjoy a scrumptious lunch box in the Jaguar Restaurant
  • Embark on a fun host lead Zoo Tour to find your favourite animals in our collection whilst your guide highlights roarsome facts.

Price: For £22.50 per child, your children’s birthday memories will be both wild and wonderful.

The Capybara Kids rate includes zoo entry for the day, and loads more:

Original Otters

Get set for an original birthday party where you get to write the script! With lots to choose from, it’ll be a day to remember. There are two time slots available so you can decide if you prefer early doors or a later start.

For this event, we provide you with a blank canvas to build and enjoy the day as you wish. A typical day includes:

  • Arrival in the Jaguar Restaurant to a designated table prepared with squash
  • Free time to settle into your surroundings
  • Lunch boxes will be brought to the table for your designated lunch time
  • Further free time to explore the zoo

Price: For £15.50 per child, zoo entry for the day is included, as well as:

  • A birthday card from us at Dartmoor Zoo
  • A yummy lunch for the children
  • Free admission for two adults
  • Discounted entry rate of £12.50 for additional adults
  • Unlimited squash

Choose from our optional extras to make their day even more special:

  • Fantastically unique animal feeding experiences! (Feed the Otters £45.00/Feed the Meerkats £45.00)
  • One hour guided Zoo tour (£30.00)

Terms & Conditions

1.Bookings should be made a minimum of two weeks in advance of your chosen date with a 50% deposit needed on the date of booking confirmation. The remaining balance must be paid seven days before the date of the party, after which point the total payment becomes non-refundable. You can make the payments by calling 01752 837645.  

2. Animal feeds are subject to availability on a first come, first served basis and animal welfare considerations are priority. Only the birthday boy or girl will be able to feed the animals. Refunds are not granted in the highly unlikely event that a feed may not be possible due to animal welfare concerns but we will endeavour to organise an alternative animal feed on the day or at a later date. 

3. Capybara packages include a Feed the Meerkat or a Feed the Otter experience subject to availability. Availability will be discussed at point of booking.

4. In line with health and safety guidance, Face Painting is not recommended for any children under the age of 3. Any child with broken or irritated facial skin will not be able to have their face painted for their own safety.

5. For adequate supervision, we recommend a minimum ratio of one adult to six children.

6. Parties may be rescheduled by Dartmoor Zoo due to severe weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

7. There is a minimum booking charge equivalent to 10 children. Parties for less than 10 children are welcomed but will be charged at the minimum booking rate. Parties for 25 or more children will be subject to additional booking charges.

8. Please note – our Education Team have a very busy schedule of public talks and other commitments throughout the day and must keep to a strict timetable. For this reason, animal feeds and tours must begin at the time on your party schedule or they may be dropped from your itinerary on the day.
