Junior Keeper for a Day (for two children)
A day for the younger enthusiasts working alongside our keepers with a variety of species.
You’ll take part in feeding selected animals and cleaning their enclosures as well as creating some fun enrichment. This is less demanding than the adult keeper package, running from 10:00-15:00 and is more suitable for 8-15 year olds.
– A fun and educational day as a zoo keeper
– Get fully involved in feeding and care

10:15 – 11:00 – Clean and feed the goats or reptile husbandry rounds (child chooses one in advance)
11:00 – 11:45 – Enrichment making – choice of raccoon dog (can go into enclosure to place the enrichment), gelada (throw in the enrichment) or tamarins (keepers to place the enrichment in the enclosure – child chooses one in advance)
11:45 – 12:45 – Lunch/private walk-around
12:45 – 13:15 – Otter feed
13:15 – 14:00 – Private close encounters
14:00 – 14:30 – Big cat tour
14: 30 – 14:45 – Big cat feed
14:45 – 15:00 – Meet – choice of raccoon dog or lynx
15:00 – Finish
*Please note that the itinerary is subject to change, depending on animal welfare, weather patterns and staffing on the day. Your keeper will inform you of any changes to the itinerary during your induction. A parent/guardian will also need to be present throughout the experience.
